Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed an early talent for athletics when she was studying at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting talent at that moment. Only 10 weeks after her first attempt, she finished 2nd in the 200 meters at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from her high school year in 2003 and became a part of Adidas to become an athlete in professional competition. Following that, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by running 200m in 22.18 secs. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. She defended this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked in the top three of athletes in her respective events.
